22 Site News - Trouble, top40, mIRC |
I was in a really bad car accident 2 nights ago, my cars a
complete write off, luckily I'm ok. I've got a bunch of things I need to deal with
now but I'll try to keep the site as updated as possible. Please help support the
site by purchasing an email address, or if
you have a site please sign up for some advertising.
Hosting the site isn't very expensive but I'm short on cash and deep in bills these
days and keeping the site open is a priority. The site has moved into the number 1
spot in the Tupac top40 for the first
time since reopening. Thanks to everyone who votes, it's really
appreciated, please keep em coming. The Makaveli mirc script is being released on
the 25th, as well, I'm pulling random names from the mailing list who will win a free email forwarding address. So if you
haven't signed up, you can do that on the main page. More free email addresses will
be given out on mIRC #makaveli on EFNET at the time the
script is released, Sept 25th, 4:03PM Pacific Time.

22 Rap News - 2Pac Tribute |
I don't normally do rap news other than Tupac
releated, but
it's been a slow period in Tupac news so here goes. First off in Pac news I heard
that there's going to be a movie tribute to Tupac released on October 12th. One of
the songs on the soundtrack is Callin
Out Names by Kurupt, dissing a bunch of people namely DMX and the Ruff
Ryders, Jay-Z
and The Firm. The soundtrack also supposedly features Snoop, Daz,
Kurupt, Ras Kass,
Ice-T and others. I'll post more info as I get it. Afeni Shakur is scheduled
to be releasing a book of Tupac's poetry entitled "The Rose that Grew from the
concrete." It's set for November and should contain 72 poems. I'm looking
forward to this, it should be good and I imagine will show a very different side of
Tupac. I read an article in the rap pages that says Deloris Tucker is trying to sue
Deathrow again. She's on a campaign to ban gangster Rap and she tried suing Deathrow
before to gain control of productions, attempting to seperate Deathrow from it's
distributor Interscope. Then she tried suing Tupac claiming he ruing her sex life
with the song "Wonda why they call you bitch." Now she's trying to sue
them for some other reason which I laughed to hard about to remember. Eminem is
being sued now for $10 million ... by his own mother. This is
hillarious, she's
suing him for slander. She claims her son implied she was an "unstable,
lawsuit-happy drug user". Snoop and Ice Cube are both contributing songs to a
sports compilation Fox Sports Presents: Game Time!. Snoops song is a
play off Queen's song "We Will Rock You" while Ice Cubes song is called "In
the Zone (Ken Griffey Jr. Theme." Mariah Carey just shot a new video for the
remix of her song "Heartbreaker", Snoop Dogg, Missy Elliott, Da Brat and DJ Clue
were all in the video. Her new CD is called Rainbow and is due to be released Nov
2. The concert in Oahu, Hawaii on Chronic Island is taking place this weekend with
Snoop, Dre, Eninem and Xzibit. Snoop gave Xzibit mad props saying, "He's
always been underrated, but Xzibit is one of the most dominant West Coast underground
rappers in the game". I agree, I've always liked Xzibit since I heard "The
Foundation" from his cd released in 96 called "At the Speed of Life", and I
hope he gets kicked up from the underground. Fat Joe and Big Pun opened for Trinidad
in his fight against Oscar De La Hoya. Trinidad won by decision but anyone who
watched the fight like I did knows he shouldn't have won. Master P has been invited
to the Toronto Raptors training camp to try for a Basketball career in the NBA. Give
me a break. Here's a guy who averaged 2 points per game in the CBA, and he thinks
he's going to make the NBA. I seriously hope he doesn't have enough cash to buy his
way into the NBA or he'll disgrace basketball more than he has done rap. (That's
right, I'm dissing Master P) Speaking of Master P, his greatest hits album the title
of which he stole from Tupac, "Only God can Judge Me" is going to be released
Oct. 26th. Lastly, West Side Connection has a wicked new song and video called
"Let it Reign" from a movie soundtrack. I heard on Hot 97 that Ice Cube
and the 2 other members of West Side Connection WC and Mack10 are getting ready to ride on
DMX and the Ruff Ryders, which I'm glad to hear cause I don't particularily like the Ruff
Ryders and somebody in the rap game these days needs to represent.

14 Back from Vacation |
Just got back from vacation, had a good trip, nice to see
the site has moved into the number 2 spot in the Tupac top40. I bought a magazine called
Details on the trip, it had an interesting article on Orlando Anderson the guy Tupac had
an altercation in the MGM the night he was shot, and Anderson was later killed in a
shootout. It's an alright article but the author favored Anderson and looked down
upon Pac too much, only to seemingly change his view in the last few paragraphs. It
was poor journalism if you ask me, but it had some interesting information. If I get
some time I'll transcribe it and put it in the interviews
section. As you probably heard already, Afeni Shakur and Biggie's mom presented the
award for best rap video in the MTV music awards, which Tupac was nominated for, and which
Jay-Z won in MTV style fashion. Then Jay-Z said "Tupac for Life", which is
the most hypocritcal thing I've heard since listening to Nas. Tupac dissed Jay-Z
like none other and him and Jay-Z were never cool. In case you haven't already
picked up this months issue of Vibe,
it's got good articles on Pac and Biggie so check it out.

6 Pour out a little Liquor |
I'm on holiday's now so there won't be any major updates
until about the 15th. Tomorrow, Sept 7th is the anniversary of the day Tupac was
shot while Sept 13th is the anniversary of his death, so pour out a little liquor and pay
your respects.

3 Puffy, Site News, Additions |
Puffy's new album, Forever, has flopped big time, as has
Mase's new album. Not only have record sales been bad, it's getting little radio or
club play. Puffy's album tries to make it seem like people hate him for his money,
and they're "player hating him", tries to make it seem like he's hardcore and a
"Public Enemy", when in reality he's hated for his lack of talent, originality,
skill and the disgrace he represents towards hiphop. It's good to see that the last
few years I've spent preaching Tupac and anti-badboy has paid off. That every
person who liked BadBoy, who I've managed to change the opinion of, has paid off, and it
looks like the fad is over. I'm sure Tupac's grinning large. Mase has
apparently returned to school which proves while equally untalented, he's not as stupid as
Puffy. The site has won two new awards, site of the week
and site of the month at thuglife.iscool.net.
I've made two new additions to the site, Adversaries
and Award of Realness, check those out. I'm
going to be going on vacation soon, so there won't be any major updates until I get back,
probably around the 15th.
