I Picked Up The Marshall Mathers LP |
| Posted Sunday, May 28, 2000 by Rukas |
| I picked up Eminem's The Marshall Mathers LP last Monday, the 22nd. I was the first person to buy it, so they gave me a laminated promotional poster. The whole album is tight. Pick it up. I was wondering, can anyone set me up with the uncensored lyrics for the tracks that were censored? Thanks.

Tupac mentioned on Eminem CD |
| Posted Wednesday, May 24, 2000 by Jon |
I'm just sitting back listining to the new Em CD up on song 13 right now. So far I'm feeling about half of it, the rocks songs I definately don't like, but maybe they'll grow on me. There's a lot of talk about killing and raping women, namely his mom, which is kinda odd, but the disses to mainstream music figures are hillarious.
Tupac is mentioned on song 11. Marshall Mathers:
Or leaning out a window with a cocked shotgun Drivin' up the block in the car that they shot Pac in Lookin' for BIGs killas Dressin' ridiculous Blue and red like I don't see what the big deal is Double barrel twelve gauge bigger than Chris Wallace Pissed off, cuz Biggie and Pac just missed all us Watchin all these cheap immitations get rich off em' And get dollars that shoulda been theirs like they switched wallets And amist all this chris poppin and wrist watches I just sit back and just watch and just get nausea
One thing I noticed, the song Our House, which mentioned Pac and was circulating the net, got dropped from the album.
I'd say look for Bitch Please II to be a single for sure, the song is tight. |

Tupac played on MTV ... no serious |
| Posted Tuesday, May 23, 2000 by Jon |
| Yeah, I know it's hard to believe, but Tupac was actually played on MTV the other night. Of course it's only because Eminem was on for EminemTV and he played California Love. MTV still gets the middle finger from me, and they'd get the index and ring fingers too if they weren't such tight asses. Don't forget to pick up Eminem's new album. |

Don't forget to pick up Eminem's new joint |
| Posted Tuesday, May 23, 2000 by Jon |
| Don't forget to pick up the new Eminem Marshall Mathers LP cd which is dropping Tuesday, May 23rd. The CD is pretty raw, I've heard quite a few tracks off it and I'm definately going to pick it up. The album has gotten a lot of publicity with good advertising campaigns and with the amount of disses to celebrity figures it should get a lot of news coverage as well. I wouldn't be surprised if the album sold seven to eight hundred thousand albums in the first week and went five or six times platinum. |

Will Bone Thugs videos fuel alive theory ? |
| Posted Tuesday, May 23, 2000 by Jon |
I've got word on 2 upcoming Bone Thugs videos by a guy by the handle of syncere_illiess. Bone Thugs seem to be fairly active in the Tupac alive rumors. You can check out the song Thug Luv that Tupac did with Bone Thugs on the BTNH album Art of War. The Bone Thugs new album titled Resurrection appears to have the word 2Pac written in the sand, which you can click on the pic below to view.
Apparantly Mo Thugs has 2 videos being released sometime between this and next month.
Bone stated: "MAKE SURE YOU WATCH BOTH VIDEOS CLOSELY. THERE'S A GUEST APPEARANCE BY SOMEONE I THINK WILL SHOCK YOU ALL ... MAYBE WE'LL BE ABLE TO PUT THE RUMORS TO REST..."
I haven't validated the video info yet, just hitting you up. If you got any more info please let me know. |

Listen to When Thugs Die |
| Posted Monday, May 22, 2000 by Jon |
If you haven't heard about the Nas song yet check out the news post (Nas bites a song Tupac dissed him in) below. It seems to be a play of an unreleased Tupac song called When Thugs Cry which Tupac dissed Nas at the end of. Word is that the Nas song will be released on a compilation CD which is called Queens Finest and is being put together by Nas.

Thanks to lifegoeson.cjb.net for the hookup on When Thugs Die, check out their site.
I got an email from somebody who was in Uniondale New York for the Spring Break Jam 2000 concert at the Nassau Collesium. He said that Nas was giving shoutouts to Tupac during the concert. Funny how that works isn't it. |

Ja Rule Update (No Pain) + Nas correction |
| Posted Wednesday, May 17, 2000 by Jon |
I've gotten so much feed back on the Ja Rule song No Pain, it was unbelievable. Thanks to everyone who responded. I've checked out the song, and well, it pisses me off. Seriously. Ja Rule takes Tupac's first verse and Strech's verse, and sings both of them with slightly changed lyrics. Then he leaves Tupac's 3rd verse in and suddenly it's Ja Rule featuring Tupac on a single called No Pain. The beat is basically the same with an added layer and a female hook was added.
The thing that pisses me off the most, is that Pain is such a good song, and is pretty unknown even to many Tupac fans. I believe it was only released on the cassette version of the Above the Rim Soundtrack. So many people aren't going to know that he only remixed the song and are gonna give him props for it.
C-Murder has already "remixed" When We Ride on Our Enemies, an unreleased Tupac track, while Kane & Abel took the entire third verse from Souljah's Story and released it on an album.
If they wanna do a tribute, why don't they do songs that people will know Tupac has done already, like anything from All Eyez on Me ?
Just a correction on the Nas quotes, the line "Tell the medic to bring the medication, and quickly, I'm sicker then a 2pac tribute to Biggie!", was actually an Eminem quote, my bad. |

Nas Quotes |
| Posted Tuesday, May 16, 2000 by Jon |
I've checked out the song by Nas called When Thugs Die, where Nas samples beat and chrous from an unreleased Tupac song titled When Thugs Cry (Nas bites a song Tupac dissed him in) if anybody has the song in real audio so I can post it for people to hear I'd appreciate it.
I've checked out some of the songs Nas has written after the death of Tupac, here's some quotes.
"Niggaz thought I was sleep like B.I.G. and Pac did/may they rest in peace but while I'm alive I pop shit." - Nas "Don't take the pussy if she fighting, cause you saw what happened to Tupac and Mike Tyson" - Nas "Dear 'Pac ... We had words cuz the best is supposed to clash at the top/But kept it brotherly when we see each other and stopped/ ... After you left/I got no sleep/Thinkin 'bout how real us niggas would be/If we united/A nation of thugs, who could fight it?/ ... Will there ever be another MC as nice?/Will you return to us like the resurrection of Christ?" - Nas
It's easy to see, he's all up on Tupac's nuts. The best are supposed to clash ? He must have himself confused with somebody even close to the top of the rap game. |

New Tupac single this summer ? |
| Posted Monday, May 15, 2000 by Jon |
Platform Network is reporting that there is a single coming out this summer featuring Tupac and Ja Rule. This is what they had to say:
** 2 Pac & Ja Rule, 'More Pain': Is someone writing for Pac from beyond the grave? R.I.P. no doubt, but how is it that a track as dark, dense, and passionate as this is even possible after his death? Featuring the desperate tale of valor in a valiant youth by Ja Rule-- at a level I never anticipated from one of the Murder's-- this will bring joy to millions this summer."
I'm not exactly sure what single this is but I can almost guarantee that Tupac never did a song with Ja Rule. I'm thinking this might be the remix that Ja Rule did of Tupac's song Pain on the Above the Rim Soundtrack. In which case, I've got no idea how he could get clearance to release it as a single. If anybody has any info please email me.

Ice-T Voices "Cain" For Sci-Fi Video Game |
| Posted Friday, May 12, 2000 by Chris |
This is from MTV.com:
He's done film, music, and TV, and now rapper Ice-T is adding video games to his resume.
Ice-T has inked a deal with Fox Interactive to provide the voice for the character of Agent Nathaniel Cain in the science-fiction/adventure game, "Sanity, Aiken's Artifact," a project Fox is currently developing.
In "Sanity," set thirty years in the future, players assume the part of Cain, a government agent with "psionic" mental powers who is charged with finding and capturing rogue criminals with similar psychic abilities.
The "Sanity: Aiken's Artifact" game will be available from Fox Interactive in both Windows and Macintosh formats this fall, although a firm release date has yet to be announced.
Ice-T plans to celebrate the video game deal with an appearance at Fox Interactive's booth at the Electronic Entertainment Expo at the Los Angeles Convention Center on May 12 from 2 to 6 p.m. (PT).
With the video game credit, Ice joins the company of such multi-media performers as David Bowie, who last year composed music -- and appeared as a character -- in the "Omikron: The Nomad Soul" video game (see "David Bowie Writes 'Nomad' Music For Virtual Game").
For more information and a sneak peek at the "Sanity, Aiken's Artifact" game, check out the game's official site at (www.foxinteractive.com). |

Nas bites a song Tupac dissed him in |
| Posted Thursday, May 11, 2000 by Jon |
Tewpac is reporting that Nas samples the chorus/beat to an unreleased song When Thugs Cry, performed by Tupac.
At the end of the song Tupac says:
"Hey Nas remember that sh*t you said? I don’t know what magazine you said some sh*t how I wasn’t... nobody saying thugs until. Well whateva whatever, whatever. ni**a you better really go to the record store, go check out some of the albums you be putting out muthaf*cka. We been saying on this thug sh*t for a while now. And I know you been listening cause you been biting this sh*t. So uh, recognize and realize before yo a** get rolled on!"
The chrous goes:
Battle scars and close claskets are multiplied muthafuckas die, don't ask why When thugs cry, we don't shed tears, we shed blood Do you still wanna be a thug? When thugs cry
In this song by Nas, the chorus goes:
"This is what it sounds like when thugz die, pow, pow, pow."
This is obviously a dis to Tupac, a sad one, but a dis. Tupac makes a song claiming Nas was biting his style, and all Nas can do in retaliation is use the beat, switch the chorus and admit he's a biter, not even deny it ? Funny. The sad thing though, is that Nas is always in interviews saying, oh, I miss Pac, I wish he were here so we could be the two best rappers together. He's calling himself a Don and whatever else. The only people that know the unreleased song When Thugs cry, and will know this is a dis to Tupac, are the true Tupac fans, who chances are don't listen to Nas anyway, so he's not losing any fans with this subtle dis. NOW THAT'S WHAT I CALL A BITCH.
I'll try and get some more info on the existence of the song and some real audio/lyrics. If you have any info email me. |

One hour Pac Special on Channel [V] |
| Posted Thursday, May 11, 2000 by Rukas |
Last night at 7:30pm, Channel [V], an Australian cable music channel, had a one hour special about Tupac on the show PM. The hosting was shocking, I cringed each time the host said "two-pack" and laughed when he fucked up the names of the clips they played. The host also told everyone that Tupac's career spanned from 1995 to 1996, which is what a lot of people here think anyway.
The clips they played were; Shed So Many Tears, California Love Part 1, and 2, 2 of Americas Most Wanted, How Do You Want It, Hit Em Up, 2 Live And Die In LA, I Wonder If Heaven Got A Ghetto, Do For Love, and Changes.
If you see this repeated, tape it, its was rely good, but don't tape the hosting. |

Blaze Magazine set to fold |
| Posted Monday, May 8, 2000 by Jon |
| Blaze Magazine has announced it's plan to fold as a company after it's July issue. The reason is said to be it's failure to match targeted circulation and advertising goals, plus the controversy that has surrounded the magazine. It was rumored that Wyclef held a gun to the head of an editor when Canibus' album was given a bad review, and the same person was beaten by a small posse when a picture of The Mad Rapper was published. Personally, when I go to a magazine store I check out Vibe, The Source and Blaze, and have never bought a single issue of Blaze. Hopefully this won't effect Vibe Magazine, which is a sister company. |

Site Download Problems (thecoolhost.com) |
| Posted Friday, May 5, 2000 by Jon |
I'm working on getting a new download server for the real audio and makaveli script. I need about 200MB, if somebody can hook me up with temporary space on a reliable T3, non-free webspace provider, I'd apreciate it.
The old server is down due to problems thecoolhost.com was having with their servers. I paid for 4 months of hosting and over the course of the first 3 months the site wasn't up for half the time. I was repeatedly told that the server problems were being fixed. Then, my account was deleted, with all of my files, and tape backups were lost. I had no access to the account, even with a month left of paid hosting and haven't been reinbursed in any way. Not even with an apology. |

If you haven't picked up the May edition of source magazine you definately should. It's got a nice tribute to Big Pun, an article about Choclair, the break up of Bone Thugs and lots more. They rated the top ten album covers of all time and Makaveli was ranked number 4. Boogie Down Productions - By any means necessary was number 1, Nas - illmatic was number 2 and Redman - Dare iz a darkside ranked number 3. They also ranked Still I Rise in their Source System under heavy rotation. Ha Ha, this is funny. There's an advertisement for Cross Colour clothing at page 116. Anybody else remember wearing tshirts that changed color when you sweat ? If you wanna take a trip back 9-10 years you can hook yourself up, the phone number is 212.840.0880. |

Warren G news |
| Posted Thursday, May 4, 2000 by Chris |
| Warren G recently ended his production and distribution deals with Restless Records. Warren G has instead started up a new label, Flawless Entertainment. Which may be possibily distributed by Dr. Dre's Aftermath Entertainment. Also, Warren G recently stated that he had nothing but love for Suge Knight. Warren G also took the time to clarify a nasty rumor. "It was also said in a book (Have Gun Will Travel: The Rise And Violent Fall Of Death Row Records) that some motherfucker wrote I had gotten slapped by Suge. That's absurd! No man has ever slapped Warren G! I ain't got nothing against that nigga, ya know! We ain't got nothing against him. We just moving on and doing what we gonna do. But we ain't gonna let nothing hold us back." Warren G also mentioned the Dr. Dre-Mack 10 beef. "I don't know nothing about that but that's something Dre and him gonna have to sit down and talk about to see what's really going on. If he feels like he dissing him, then Dre, and him are going to have to sit down and talk like men about it. And Dre can ask him if you dissing me, what do you have against me? I riding with Dre cause that's my peoples but I don't think Mack 10 was really dissing Dre." He also mentioned Daz's statements that he and Warren G also contributed a lot of work on Dr. Dre's The Chronic and Snoop Dogg's Doggystyle. "As far as The Chronic record, I bought in a lot of ideas. Everybody bought in ideas and we all worked together, ya know. I'm not trying to take no credit from nobody because Dre is one of the dopest motherfuckers I ever met in my life. I done a lot of work on The Chronic. I came with my ideas and I would do something and Dre would shape it. But he done it. I was involved and I helped, but that was us as a team. It ain't about one certain person doing more than the other. Everybody was doing it as a team." |

Dmx sentenced to 15 days in jail |
| Posted Wednesday, May 3, 2000 by Jon |
Dmx has been sentenced to 15 days in jail with no bail stemming from a March 3rd arrest (Dmx Arrested and Charged) in which he was charged for driving without a license and marijuana possession in Cheektowaga, New York. Dmx missed his court date on March 23rd and later turned himself in. He plead guilty to all charges and on top of his sentence, was charged $100 for marijuana possession, $200 for driving without a licence and $50 in unpaid parking tickets. It might be an unfair presumption but I'd be willing to bet that if he wasn't on tour with the rest of the RuffRyders and Cash Money he would have been able to make his court date. |

Geronimo Pratt wins lawsuit |
| Posted Tuesday, May 2, 2000 by Jon |
For those who don't know Geronimo Pratt was Tupac's Godfather. Thanks to Bishop of the message board for this info.
"Geronimo" Pratt has settled his false imprisonment and civil rights lawsuit against the FBI and city of Los Angeles for $4.5 million, the Los Angeles Times reported Wednesday.
Pratt, 53, spent 25 years in prison until his murder conviction was overturned in 1997.
"It's a fair deal for everybody," said Johnnie Cochran Jr., the attorney who represented Pratt at his 1972 trial and the 1997 hearing where his conviction was reversed.
The federal government has reportedly agreed to pay $1.75 million. The Times, citing unidentified sources, said the city's share of the settlement is $2.75 million, which must be approved by the City Council.
Pratt, a decorated Vietnam War veteran, maintained his innocence from the start. He lives in his hometown of Morgan City, La., where he uses the name Geronimo ji Jaga and is working to convert the abandoned, once-segregated school he attended into a youth center.
In the 1972 trial, Pratt was convicted of robbing and fatally shooting schoolteacher Caroline Olsen on a Santa Monica tennis court.
He said he was in Oakland for Black Panther meetings the day of the murder, and that FBI agents and police hid and possibly destroyed wiretap evidence that would prove that.
Pratt's lawyers blamed his arrest on a politically charged campaign by J. Edgar Hoover's FBI against the Black Panthers and other perceived enemies of the U.S. government. His legal team waged a relentless campaign to free Pratt, winning numerous hearings only to then be rebuffed repeatedly.
Superior Court Judge Everett Dickey finally granted Pratt a new trial in 1997, saying the credibility of prosecution witness Julius Butler -- who testified that Pratt had confessed to him -- could have been undermined if the jury had known Butler was an ex-felon and police informant.
Pratt was freed. Two years later, District Attorney Gil Garcetti announced he would not bring him to trial again after failing to persuade an appeals court to reinstate the conviction. |

Reference to Pac/Crazy on 504Boyz Intro |
| Posted Tuesday, May 2, 2000 by Jon |
There's a mention to Tupac and Crazy on the intro to the 504 Boyz CD. You can listen to the intro on the mp3 thanks to Eric Ford. This is the mention to Tupac:
Kid: Dad MasterP: Yeah son Kid: Is tupac still alive ? MasterP: What you mean boy ? Kid: I heard you got a nigga named Crazy sound just like Pac
This pisses me off. It's one thing to sign a rapper to his label that sounds like Tupac, it's another thing to try and exploit the alive rumors in doing it. In the case of Master P, money makes the man, and as far as I'm concerned it doesn't make him shit.
