EDI mentions rumored beef with Xzibit on Novakane. |
| Posted Sunday, November 18, 2001 by Rukas |
I just noticed something interesting on 'This Is The Life' from the Outlawz latest album, Novakane.
EDI raps "EDI Amin, about my chips since 96, I told ya'all on Bomb First, think about your money first, niggaz thought I was dissing, but I was teaching," I think this is a refrence to EDI's line in 'Bomb First' where he raps "Got a little question for that nigga that made Paparazzi, if you aint in this rap game, for the mutha fucken cash man, then what is your mutha fucken purpose?"
Just another thing proving that there is no beef between the Outlawz and Xzibit, in case ya didn't know already... |

Next year's One Nation Conference |
| Posted Saturday, November 17, 2001 by Chris |
| Next year's One Nation Conference will be held at Berkley's La Pena auditorium on June 16. The time is still being decided upon. Also, the One Nation Conference Comittee is being sued for $2,000 by several artistic firms for ideas and undisclosed terms. The firms claims they stole the title for the last conference, Until The End Of Time. Robert McCall, the founder of the comittee, believes it's all because of a failure to pay for t-shirts they had made prior to the conference. |

Dre, Storch, Xzibit and others get sued |
| Posted Saturday, November 17, 2001 by Chris |
In April, Philadelphia songwriter Michael Lowe filed a copyright infringement suit against Dr. Dre, Scott Storch, Xzibit, Ain't Nuthin' But Funkin' Music, Hard Workin' Black Folks Music, Hennessy For Everyone Music, Voco Music, Columbia Records and Loud Records claiming that they stole his tune and used it for Xzibit's single, "X." Dr. Dre, Mel-Man and Scott Storch are credited as the producers. Lowe is seeking damages exceeding $1 million.
On August 6, 2000, Lowe was invited by producer Storch to come to Pep-Soul Recording Studios in Philadelphia and bring his "hottest stuff." If it was good enough, it'd be showcased for rap producers in Los Angeles and New York. One of the songs he played for Stoch was "West Coast (Dre Beat)," a piece he had assembled to complement Dre's style. After he heard it, Storch asked him to go home and retrieve the original disc that contained the song. A sound engineer at Pep-Soul witnessed Storch recording drumbeats and music similiar to "West Coast (Dre Beat)" into his keyboard.
Eight months later, Lowe heard his song on Xzibit's third LP, Restless, and in late March, Lowe's attorney, John T. Robertson, hired a music expert to compare Lowe's version to "X" and found that there were sufficient similarities to justify legal action. Robertson sent a settlement proposal to each of the defendants in the case, but they all refused to settle, insisting that Dre and Xzibit wrote "X" on their own.
The defendants were served legal papers in April and to date all but publisher Melvin F. Bradford have responded not guilty to the copyright infringement charges. Storch asked that the case be dismissed due to lack of evidence, but last week his motion was denied by judge Robert L. Kelly of the U.S. District Court For Eastern District Of Pennsylvania. |

Knoc's Landin' |
| Posted Saturday, November 17, 2001 by Chris |
L.A. Confidential/Elektra Records is scheduled to release Knoc-Turn'al's debut album, Knoc's Landin', in March, 2002. It features production by Dr. Dre and Timbaland. It features songs including the first single, "Knoc," featuring Dr. Dre and Missy Elliot and "Str8 West Coast (remix)" featuring Dr. Dre.
"Knoc can do it all - I can't think of a better talent who fits the vision I have for L.A. Confidential," said Big D, CEO of L.A. Confidential Entertainment. "Elektra is a great home for us because it affirms one of my goals, which is to give our label a universal sound. Even though we're based in L.A. we want our music to appeal to people from every region. It doesn't matter from what side of town you are from, or what part of the country, our goal is to keep the door open to everybody."
"Knoc-Turn'al has already made his presence known in the hip-hop community by his collaborations with Dre on The Wash soundtrack," said Sylvia Rhone, CEO and Chairman of Elekra Records. "His upcoming Elektra debut will no doubt put him down as one of hip-hop's new forces to watch." |

It's quite amazing, I don't know any artist in the past ten years who had three albums in the top 100 at the same time. If you do, feel free to e-mail me.

Vanilla Ice speaks on Suge and mentions 2Pac |
| Posted Wednesday, November 14, 2001 by Rukas |
Vanilla Ice, also known as Robbie Van Winkle, was recently interviewed by Launch.com and he mentioned Suge Knight and Death Row, and 2Pac.
When asked about his thoughts on the now free Suge Knight, who allegedly dangled him by the leg from a balcony, forcing him into signing over the publishing rights to his hit "Ice, Ice Baby", Vanilla Ice said "You know, I have no hate towards Suge or nothing like that. I look at that in a positive way because of the fact that, you know, I told you in '94 I tried to commit suicide with $20 million in the bank." He then added "Why would I be bitter today after that, and after everything I been through, on what Suge took from me? And I look at it in a positive way because the money that went towards that, you know, the Death Row thing, also funded the 2Pac record, The Chronic record, you know, some of the best hip-hop records of history. A Snoop Dogg, you know, all of that came from the initial funding of Vanilla Ice."
Firstly, Vanilla Ice is a total bitch. Secondly, the publishing rights signed over were signed over to Chocolate Bandit who rightfully deserved them. Chocolate Bandit was responsible for writing Vanilla Ice's album along with Earthquake. Vanilla Ice and his label then tried to screw Chocolate out of his money and credit. Whatever beatings Vanilla Ice recieved from Suge he deserved and has himself to thank for.
And everybody knows Death Row was funded by drug money. Sure maybe some of Vanilla Ice's money helped out, but this has nothing to do with 2Pac. Its obvious Robbie Van Winkle is just trying to make himself feel important, which he is not and is better left forgotten. |

It was Napolean, Noble, E.D.I, and Kastro there and some other of their homies. I then seen them in the casino later on and went up to them to shake their hands. They were very cool about it. They was just flossing the Outlaw gear. I gotta give it up to them boyz. Just wanted to let you know and if u wanna post this go ahead. Gimme props if you do, nahmean. Big Boi & Dre Presents |
| Posted Wednesday, November 7, 2001 by Chris |
Arista Records is scheduled to release Outkast's fifth LP, Big Boi & Dre Presents, on December 4, 2001. It's a greatest hits type of LP and features three previously unreleased songs. One of the new songs is "The Whole World."
"'The Whole World' is like a new-school jam, you know. It's like... put it like this, it's all about that swang. That's what it's about this season," Dre said in an interview with MTV. "It touches on issues — serious ones and playful."
"Basically it was a time, right after the terrorist attacks, that every time you turned on the TV, you would see a big pile of rubble, steam and big cranes," Big Boi said, "and at one point I thought it was really desensitizing people to what happened. They kept showing things over and over again, which is like trying to keep people down."
"'The whole world loves it when you don't get down' is basically [saying that] people like to see you doing bad, whether it's terrorists or republicans or democrats, government officials, whoever," Big Boi said, "so you, as an individual, have got to take it upon yourself to really push forward, 'cause there is always going to be negativity. But with positivity, it cancels it out."
The tracklist is below:
01. Funkin' Around* 02. Ain't No Thang 03. So Fresh, So Clean 04. Rosa Parks 05. The Whole World - (featuring Killer Mike)* 06. Aquemini 07. B.O.B. 08. Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik 09. Crumblin' Erb 10. Ms. Jackson 11. Player's Ball 12. Elevators (Me And You) 13. Spottieottiedopaliscious" (original) - (featuring Sleepy Brown)* 14.
